Scholarship Requirements

The Detroit TSUAA (Tennessee State University Alumni Association) Foundation was developed in March, 2004, as an adjunct to the TSUAA-Detroit Chapter. Its sole purpose is to raise revenue to allow the alumni chapter to award scholarship grants to Detroit Area students who elect to attend Tennessee State University, located in Nashville, Tennessee.

    Eligible applicants must plan to enroll full-time at Tennessee State University in a four year degree program for the upcoming fall or winter term. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative 3.00 GPA on a 4.0 scale and be active in community service activities. Scholarship awards will be presented at a Detroit TSUAA Scholarship event hosted by the TSUAA-Detroit Chapter.

THE PROCEDURE IS AS FOLLOWS:

• Complete and return the attached application and include all required materials.
• The application must be complete and postmarked no later than March 1.
• Selected finalists will be scheduled for interviews on.
• Scholarship winners will be notified no later than May 1 of each year and will be expected to attend the Scholarship Event.

The Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization, allows the chapter greater flexibility in terms of the methods it is able to utilize to garner revenue.
